Access to Radiography

1. Qualification detail

2. Course description

This course is for mature students who wish to progress to a degree programme in Radiography. You will follow subjects that will aid your application to a Bachelor of Science programme, including physics, mathematics, biology, and wider sciences, plus a work experience placement with the NHS. You will also have a weekly tutorial.

3. Entry requirements

Universities require learners to have GCSEs to progress onto a degree and West Thames College can help you get these alongside your Access course. The GCSEs you will be asked to have are in English, Maths and Science. To join an Access course, students must already have a GCSE in maths and science and be prepared to study your GCSE in English if you don't have this. If you need to study more than one of the above GCSEs then why not enrol on our Adult GCSE courses for an academic year and then join your Access course. Please note that this is a very demanding course, equivalent to an A-Level programme, so you will need to have a good level of literacy and numeracy (GCSE grade A-C standard) in order to succeed. You will have an initial assessment to assess your suitability for the course. If successful, you will be invited for an interview. If you are not quite ready for the Access course we may offer you another course that will prepare you for the Access course. You will need to have a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check for this course. If you need advice before you apply, please call 020 8326 2020 or email ciag@west-thames.ac.uk.
