2. Course description
This level is ideal if you want to begin working in the dog grooming industry and want to learn the skills you need to work under supervision in a dog grooming salon.Based at our Wigfield Farm campus this qualification is ideal if you wish to enter the dog grooming industry for personal or professional reasons. You will learn dog grooming techniques that include preparation, bathing, drying and basic grooming techniques.The areas of study are: Prepare and groom dogs prior to bathing Bathe and clean dogs Clean and maintain equipment used for grooming or removing hair from animals Control and restrain animals Dry dogs and prepare their coats for styling Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming Level 2 or 3 Technical Certificate/Diploma in Animal Care. This qualification could help you get a job as a: Dog groomer Assistant dog groomer Kennel worker Start Date / Duration Entry Requirements You will achieve This is a 30 week course starting on either Monday October 2018 or Wednesday October 2018 You can choose between Monday (5.15pm-8.15pm) or Wednesday (9.30am-12.30pm) Basic literacy and IT skills will be required to complete this qualification. You will achieve a Level 2 Certificate for Dog grooming qualification. We recommend you go onto the next level after.

4. Equipment required
Aprons will be provided in the dog grooming room, non-slip full covered shoes must be worn for all practical sessions.
5. Assessment method
An online multiple choice assessment set by the awarding body You will complete a portfolio of practical and written evidence that shows achievement of all relevant learning outcomes.
