2. Course description

If you wish to establish a career in the Travel and Tourism industry then this course is for you. You will have the opportunity to explore one of the worlds most dynamic and fast-growing industries. Additionally, you will be completing a qualification in resort representatives. This course is an academic programme designed to give students a practical insight into the travel and tourism industry potentially leading to level 3 BTEC travel and tourism courses. You will gain a wide range of knowledge within this qualification, enabling you to work successfully in a range of jobs in the travel and tourism industry. If you are aged 16-18, you will be enrolled on a study programme, which will include retaking GCSEs or undertaking Functional Skills in English and maths if you haven't already achieved a grade 4 or above. You will also be required to complete a work experience placement and an employability programme.

3. Entry requirements

Standard entry to this course requires one reference. It is desirable that you can demonstrate 90% attendance in your last place of study or work. A GCSE in both English and maths at grade 3 (D) or above is required. Consideration will be given to all application over the age of 19 who do not hold formal English and maths qualifications.

4. Equipment required

£100 fee to cover trips and visits.

5. Assessment method

There will be a variety of assessment methods such as report writing, leaflets, PowerPoint presentations, role plays and displays.
