2. Course description

Learners who are interested in or are new to working in adult social care will find this a good starting point to gain knowledge and skills whilst still looking for or are new to working in the sector. Students must complete 5 mandatory units ; introduction to the adult social care sector / introduction to the values and principles of adult social care / awareness of the skills and attitudes needed to work in adult social care / awareness of communication in adult social care / awareness of the role and responsibilities of the adult social care worker.

3. Entry requirements

There are no entry requirements for the Level 2 course yet there may be the need to sit a BKSB screening test to show what Maths and English levels you are currently working at. A tutor will discuss with you your options after this screening.

5. Assessment method

The course entails the production of a portfolio of evidence to show your newly developed skills. There are various methods of assessment such as presentations / essays / individual reasearch and homework.
