2. Course description

During this course you will develop more advanced theoretical knowledge of engineering. Theory lessons will develop your understanding of CAD, and introduce you to fluid mechanics, and electronic devices. In our dedicated workshop you will learn more advanced techniques in how to use machinery, tools and materials. You will work with a range of materials to produce products, parts and components using lathes and milling machines. You will be able to use you purpose built welding bays and learn about the different types of welding. You will also have the opportunity to learn in the industry by taking advantage of our great relationship with local and national engineering companies to undertake work expereince placements. Units you will cover over the year include:* Engineering materials* Engineering maths and science* Electronic devices and circuits* Engineering design* Computer-aided design (CAD)* Fluid Mechanics* Engineering machining and welding* Engineering workshop skills

5 GCSEs grade A*/9 - C/4 including English and maths.
